This is the piece we were thinking of (I believe)...by Niki de Saint Phalle "Hon-en Katedral", i.e., "She - a Cathedral" (1966). I think the artist is saying, "walk into my vagina, people. You know you want to." The color choices and style is modernist to me (color fields), and has a pop art flavor. Woman as commodity, as a spectacle.
